Armada Athletics Update - September 30, 2024

Conway, SC - Volleyball had a full slate pf games last week before Hurricane Helene stepped in.

The Armada started the week by participating in the Philip Simmons Tournament over the weekend, which saw them go head-to-head in the first varsity match-up with an Horry County School as they faced off with, and beat, Socastee High School. They also hosted regional opponent Kingstree. Read about the matches and results HERE and HERE.

The scheduled matches for the varsity and JV volleyball teams against Mullins were postponed by the weather and will be rescheduled.

UP NEXT WEEK for Volleyball: Varsity & JV at Marion High School on Thursday at 5:30 & 7 p.m.

The ACA football continued to be road warriors as they traveled to take the field in the first regional match up in program history at Mullins High School. Mullins came in as the top ranked team in Region 7AA and boasted an undefeated record. Read about how things played out for The Armada HERE.

The scheduled game at Oceanside Collegiate Academy was canceled and will not be rescheduled for this year.

UP NEXT WEEK for Football: at Marion High School on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Girls Tennis, playing without their top ranked player, dropped a tough match at regional opponent East Clarendon High School. You can read about that match HERE. They also had their match against Trinity Collegiate canceled last week due to the weather.

UP NEXT WEEK for Girls Tennis: at Marion High School on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Armada defeated the Red Foxes 5-2 back on September 10.

Girls Golf traveled to Florence for a tri-match with Trinity Collegiate and Laurence Manning Academy on September 24 at the Florence Country Club. Senior Standout Hannah Lowery tied for the low score of the match and the Armada walked away with a pair of wins. Read the story HERE. Lowery was scheduled to play in the prestigious WSCGA Vicki Hillen JGF Invitational over the weekend, but like most everything else, it was canceled. No makeup date has been announced.

UP NEXT for Girls Golf: at Georgetown High School on October 8 at Wedgefield Plantation at 4 p.m.
