Graduation Planning

IGP Planning Information

Welcome to ACA’s Guidance Counseling Page!

At Atlantic Collegiate Academy, we believe in the unique potential of every student, and we are committed to supporting your individual journey toward graduation and beyond. That's why we require all students to participate in an annual Individual Graduation Planning (IGP) meeting. Here's why these meetings are crucial for your academic and personal development:

1. Personalized Guidance:

The IGP meeting is an opportunity for you to receive personalized guidance from your assigned counselor. Your counselor will review your academic progress, discuss your career interests, and help you set meaningful goals for the upcoming year.

2. Academic Planning:

During the IGP meeting, you and your counselor will collaboratively review your course selections, ensuring that they align with your long-term goals and meet graduation requirements. This process helps you stay on track for success and ensures that you are challenged appropriately in your coursework.

3. Career Exploration:

As you progress through high school, your interests and career goals may evolve. The IGP meeting provides a dedicated space to explore potential career paths, discuss relevant extracurricular activities, and consider how your academic choices align with your future aspirations.

4. College and Career Readiness:

Whether you plan to attend college or pursue other post-graduation pathways, the IGP meeting helps you plan strategically. Your counselor can provide information on alternative career development pathways, college admissions requirements, standardized testing, and other essential aspects of preparing for higher education.

5. Holistic Support:

Beyond academics, the IGP meeting allows you and your counselor to address any personal or social-emotional concerns that may impact your overall well-being and success. Your counselor is here to provide support and connect you with resources to ensure your holistic development.

6. Parent and Guardian Involvement:

We encourage parents and guardians to actively participate in the IGP process. Your family's insights and support are invaluable in creating a comprehensive plan that aligns with your academic and personal goals.

By participating in your annual IGP meeting, you are taking an active role in shaping your educational journey and setting the stage for future success. We are excited to work with you in this collaborative effort to support your growth, development, and achievement at ACA.
