From The Armada Quarterdeck, Vol. 7

Conway, SC- After a quiet start to the week on the competition slate, ACA hit full steam over the second half of the week with major coaching announcements and high-level competition across the region. From officially anchoring our soccer leadership to seeing our student-athletes raise trophies on the court, the momentum across Atlantic Collegiate Academy continues to build.

The Deck Log: Inside Armada Athletics

  • Soccer Leadership Officially Anchored: We are thrilled to formally introduce our new soccer leadership! Alex Ibanescu has been named Head Boys' Soccer Coach, and Kevin Weidner has been tabbed as Head Girls' Soccer Coach. Both coaches bring immense knowledge and passion to our programs, and we are excited to see them steer our Armada soccer teams on the pitch.
  • Athlete of the Week Honors: A huge congratulations to Ella Ziskowski (Volleyball) for earning Athlete of the Week honors! Ella put together a dominant stat line at the Northside Christian Academy tournament, putting up 18 kills, 14 blocks, 5 assists, and 2 digs.
  • JV Volleyball Sweeps to Tournament Championship: Coach Stack and our JV Volleyball squad put on a masterclass at the Northside Christian Academy tournament! The team went a flawless 10-0, sweeping all three pool play matches, the semifinal, and the championship final without dropping a single set.
  • Varsity Volleyball Earns Region Win & Tests Mettle in Charleston: Varsity Volleyball traveled to Loris High School and earned a sound victory before competing in the prestigious Ironhorse Invitational at Philip Simmons in Charleston. Testing ourselves against elite statewide competition is key preparation as Coach Church and the squad build toward a deep playoff run.
  • Girls Golf Competes in Elite Hilton Head Field: The Armada Girls Golf team hit the road to Hilton Head to compete at Moss Creek GC in the prestigious WSCGA Vicki Hillen JGF High School Invitational (Rosie Jones Invitational). Competing in a premier 36-hole stroke play event against top competition continues to sharpen our program.
  • Football Battles in Road Contest: Armada Football traveled to Darlington High School for a hard-fought road matchup. While our team fell short in a narrow 20-14 contest, our athletes battled until the final whistle and continue to lay a tough, physical foundation.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Armada Athletics. Go Armada!
