Welcome back to The Armada Quarterdeck! Week 10 has been a historic one for Atlantic Collegiate Academy Athletics. Between regional championship titles, undefeated conference runs, and upgraded recovery resources for our student-athletes, the momentum across our department is unstoppable.
On a personal note, as a self-proclaimed foodie, I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring the incredible food scene across the Grand Strand! This past weekend, I had the chance to attend the local Greek Festival, it was an outstanding event filled with authentic cuisine, vibrant music, and great local vendors. It's always a treat to connect with the broader Grand Strand community.
Department Headlines & Program Leadership
- Head Boys Golf Search Progress: We are entering the final rounds of video calls for our Head Boys Golf Coach position! We anticipate bringing 3 top candidates on campus next week for final interviews as we look to finalize high-caliber leadership for the program.
- Athletic Training & Recovery Upgrades: We are excited to highlight the successful addition and implementation of our new ice bath and ice machine system! Football, baseball, and various other sports have already put the ice baths to great use for post-practice recovery, and the new ice machine saw its first official athletic event deployment during the Girls Golf Regional Tournament. Investing in student-athlete recovery and wellness remains a top priority as our programs operate at a championship level.
Game Recaps & Competition Highlights
- Girls Golf – 3A Region 6 Champions! Congratulations to our Girls Golf team on winning the 3A Region 6 Championship at Diamondback Golf Course in Loris! Team members Clara Beth Brady, Bella Stroupe, Katelyn Daly, Sofia Eddy, Sloane DeLong, and Mia Leath have been competitive all season. A huge shout-out to Clara Beth Brady, Katelyn Daly, and Sofia Eddy for earning All-Region Team honors!
- Girls Volleyball – 3A Region 6 Champions (12-0 Undefeated)! Armada Volleyball has officially captured their first 3A Region 6 Championship, marking their third consecutive region title overall! The squad capped off a dominant, undefeated 12-0 region record while amassing an astonishing 36-2 set record throughout conference play!
- Football Battles on the Road at Crestwood: Both our football squads competed against Crestwood High School this week. JV dropped a hard-fought contest 14-0, while Varsity battled in a high-scoring matchup, falling 46-30 to Crestwood on Friday night. Our young men fought hard through forty-eight minutes and continue to show great character and resilience as we prepare for the postseason push.
