CONWAY, S.C. — When Atlantic Collegiate Academy launched its volleyball program, it set out to build a culture of athletic and academic excellence. Four years later, six seniors are seeing that vision through as the first class to complete all four years at ACA since the school opened its doors.
Ahead of Senior Night, ACA Athletics will honor Kayley Davis, Cora Fusaro, Bella Goebel, Zoey Rushman, Laney Skinner, and Julie Wunderlich — six student-athletes who have anchored the Armada's rise through the South Carolina High School League ranks.
A Rapid Program Ascent
The Class of 2027's high school tenure mirrors the program's dramatic growth across state classifications:
-
2023 (Inaugural Season): Competing on an independent schedule during ACA's opening year, the founding squad laid the groundwork with a 6-8-3 finish. This season also included the first ever win in ACA Athletic History.
-
2024 (Class 2A Debut): Jumping into SCHSL competition, ACA announced its presence on the state stage, compiling a 24-10-2 record, school's first region championship and advancing to the Lower State semifinals (Elite Eight).
-
2025 (Class 2A Final Four Run): The Armada put together a dominant 24-6 campaign, capturing a region championship and pushing all the way to the Class 2A Lower State finals (Final Four).
-
2026 (Class 3A Realignment): Reclassified up to SCHSL Class 3A for their senior year, the Armada have maintained their standard of excellence, holding a 17-6 record and the No. 3 ranking in Class 3A as postseason play approaches.
Over the past four seasons, the Armada have compiled 71 total victories while establishing ACA volleyball as a statewide contender.
