Conway, SC – This is the last week of the 2024-25 school year!
Last week we finished our finals and EOCEP exams. For students who may have missed an EOCEP or a class final, we are having make-ups today and tomorrow.
We will have our second Graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Beach Church.
We are proud to recognize our final Student and Citizen of the Month for this year. Ms. Funderburk made the nomination for Student of the Month and Ms. submitted the domination for Citizen of the Month.
Student of the Month Natalie Kreis
"Natalie is the blueprint of what we expect from our Armada students," Ms. Funderburk said. "She goes above and beyond on each and every assignment and always puts the highest level of effort into her work. She is insanely intelligent and asks questions that make her peers, and even her teachers, think harder. She is always willing to help her peers, and she always comes to class eager to learn something new. Natalie is truly a fantastic student and represents everything we pride ourselves on here at ACA."
Dr. McKinley and Principal Lorenz presented Natalie Kreis with her Student of the Month award for May.
Citizen of the Month Jeffrey Williams
"Jeffrey is always polite and helpful to me and his classmates," Ms. Eddy said. "I see him cleaning up around the room, in the halls and during basketball games! He is ready with a smile and a hug if you need one. Jeffrey represents the "R" in ANCHOR as he is respectful to others in all he does."
AD Payne joins with Dr. McKinley and Principal Lorenz to present Jeffrey Williams with the Citizen of the Month award for May.
Parent Forums & Summer Tours
Believe it or not, our school has more than 650 students registered for the 2025-26 school year. That means we are at capacity, but that doesn't mean your child doesn't have a chance to be enrolled for next year. We are especially full for students in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades for next year. If you have a student in one of those grades who is interested in ACA, they need to sign up NOW!!
We are still accepting applications for new students for next year. Those applicants will go onto our wait list and will be placed whenever a spot becomes available. We expect that some accepted students will decide not to attend ACA next year, so we are looking to add as many names as possible to our wait list.
If you are interested in your children attending ACA this fall, make plans to attend a school tour, which will occur each Monday and Thursday through the summer, with those tours starting at 1 p.m. We will also have another Parent Forum on Tuesday, June 10, at 5:30 p.m.
Summer hours at ACA will be Monday through Thursday each week from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Administrators will be in the school on those days from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. with the exception of vacation.
Guidance Information
IF YOU HAVE FAILED A CORE COURSE SUCH AS English, Math, Science or Social Studies, YOU CAN NOT RETURN TO ACA WITHOUT PASSING THE COURSE THIS SUMMER THROUGH VIRTUAL SC. https://virtualsc.org/
It is the student's responsibility to register and sign up for the course. ACA will only approve Credit Recovery courses.
Registration CLOSES TODAY at 7 P.M.
- To Register, click this link:https://virtualsc.org/dates/
-
VirtualSC does not recognize rising grade levels. For example, if a 10th grade student hopes to take a course this summer, they would create their account as a 10th grader and register beginning on the 27th. All students are bumped to the next grade level automatically at the end of the summer.
-
Students must create their account AHEAD OF TIME. That way, all they must do is request a course during their assigned registration window. We recommend making your account before May 19th.
-
Students will use MonitorEdu to test. They will NOT take their Final in person at ACA.
-
Students must contact their VirtualSC teacher and the general VirtualSC line with questions - NOT ACA.
Dual Enrollment Information
College is over. Finals are done. If you only had college classes please see Mr. Shucoski for device checks.
Please return all of your college textbooks to Professor Warren.
We look forward to working with HGTC in the fall. Please be on the lookout for the MANDATORY orientation conducted by HGTC for parents and students held at ACA.
