Conway, SC – The Atlantic Collegiate Academy volleyball team christened the new gym at ACA, known as "The Flight Deck" on Tuesday with a straight set victory over Marion High in Region 7-AA play.
The Armada jumped on the visiting Swamp Foxes early, winning the opening set 25-12, and never looked back in a dominant straight set victory. ACA took the second set 25-9 and then closed out the match with a 25-14 victory.

Ella Handley with eight kills each. Sophomore setter
Zoey Rushman provided 14 assists in the match.
In the JV match against Marion, the Armada coasted to a 2-0 victory, winning by scores of 25-8 and 25-10.
"It was a great performance for the JV girls, bouncing back after losing to Oceanside last week," JV coach Justin Stack said. "They had the honor of winning the first match ever played in the new gym."

Naomi Donahue, were the standout performers in the match for ACA.
"Simone had a solid performance serving and attacking while both Naolmi and Ava were efficient as setters and were able to spread the ball out to various hitters for a solid offensive performance."
Armada Fares Well in Northside Christian Tournament
Lexington, SC – The members of the Atlantic Collegiate Academy varsity volleyball probably slept very well on Saturday night after playing six matches during the Northside Christian Academy Invitational Tournament.
The Armada posted a record of 3-1-2 in those matches, including a 1-1-2 mark in pool play before advancing into the Silver Division bracket where ACA posted a pair of wins to claim the bracket title.
The tournament included 10 teams from across the region. ACA faced the host team from Northside Christian, AC Flora HS, Trinity Collegiate and Gray Collegiate in pool play. The Armada fell in their opening match, falling to the host team 2-0 in a tightly played match. Northside won the two games by slim margins, 25-21 and 25-20,
ACA then tied both AC Flora and Gray Collegiate in consecutive matches. The team had a lackluster performance in the first game of the AC Flora match, falling 25-11, before roaring back in dominating fashion to earn the tie with a 25-8 victory.
The Armada took a 25-19 victory in the first game against Gray Collegiate Academy, before falling 25-22 in a tight second game.
ACA earned a victory in its final match in pool play to secure a spot in the Silver Bracket. The Armada downed Trinity Collegiate Academy 2-0, coasting to victory by scores of 25-13 and 25-10.
That win launched the Armada, who took out The King's Academy in the semifinals of the Sliver Bracket by winning 25-18 and 25-9. ACA then squared off against Ben Lippen High in the Silver title game. After falling in the opening game 25-19, the Armada bounced back to take the second game 26-24, forcing a deciding third game. ACA the dispatched the Falcons 15-10 to claim the Silver Bracket title.
North Central High took the overall tournament title, downing Shannon Forest in the championship match.
"We had a great team effort on Saturday," Church said. "I saw us compete hard for a long day against quality competition."
The Armada will be back in action at "The Flight Deck" in Region 7-AA play against Lake City Early College on Thursday. There is scheduled to be a junior varsity match at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m.
The ACA varsity will be back in tournament play this weekend at the Fox Creek High Tournament in North Augusta.
