Conway, SC – The Atlantic Collegiate Academy girls' basketball team earned its first win of the year on Tuesday night, downing Wilmington Christian Academy 43-38 in the Armada's home debut.
ACA (1-2) fell behind the visiting Patriots 18-16 in the first half but used a strong third quarter to surge into the lead before holding on for the hard-fought win.
The Armada was led by junior
Micah Davis, who recorded 11 points to go with nine rebounds and seven steals. Sophomore
Zaniya Blackmon was the leading scorer, posting 13 points while adding three rebounds and three assists.
ACA will be back in action on Monday when the Armada hosts Trinity Collegiate Academy as part of a basketball triple-header. The boys' junior varsity team will make its season debut at 5 p.m. followed by the girls' varsity at 6:15 p.m. and the boys' varsity at 7:30 p.m.
