Atlantic Collegiate Academy

Matt Harris has been involved with Atlantic Collegiate Academy since its earliest days while gathering with community leaders to best understand how ACA would fit into the educational offerings of Horry and Georgetown counties, followed by serving on its planning committee and eventually two terms (2023-2024 and 2024-2025) as Board Chair. Matt will serve as the Board Chair for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

Harris is a graduate of Leadership Grand Strand (Class XXIII), MBPD Citizen’s Police Academy and local Jefferson Award winner and graduate of Grand Strand Change Makers (2023). His involvement in the community includes: Grand Strand Miracle League board (2000-04), Leadership Grand Strand board of regents (2020-23) and currently in addition to the ACA board serves on the YMCA-Carolina Forest advisory board. 

He and his wife of 29 years, Carrie, have called Horry County home since 1998 and are the proud parents of two children, Elizabeth and Ethan.
