An experienced Teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry for more than 26 years, Cynthia Johnson joined the ACA Board for the 2024-25 school year.
Johnson has earned multiple degrees from Coastal Carolina University including a Bachelor's in Accounting, a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Teaching, a Master's in Early Childhood Education and Teaching and a Master's in Educational Leadership and Administration.
She has recently served on the Carolina Forest Elementary School Improvement Committee and on the Carolina Forest Elementary PTO.
"I bring to the table 26 years of experience in Education," Johnson said. "I have worked with students, families, and staff throughout these 26 years, and am well-able to serve in whatever capacity needed."
She said she was attracted to become a part of the ACA Board by the way the school integrated so many students from diverse backgrounds in such a short amount of time.
"ACA has done a fabulous job in bringing together students from very diverse backgrounds and providing a safe, intimate place for them to experience academics and athletics at a higher level," Johnson said. "The leadership and staff have created an environment that has made what could have been a difficult adjustment for students, one that has been smooth and very beneficial to their future."
She sees her role, and the role of the board, to help serve the students, faculty and staff at ACA.
"It is imperative that this Board be comprised of people who are willing to use their voice to advocate for the student body of ACA," Johnson said. "It is my goal to engage with the students, staff, and community so that I can not only advocate, but to also provide the level of wisdom and professionalism needed to move ACA to the Premiere Academy that it is purposed to be."
