Bailey Paske came to ACA from Aynor High, where he was contracted as a Social Studies teacher. He has also spent time at Waccamaw Elementary and did his student teaching at Belton-Honea Path High near Anderson, SC.

Born in Madison, Wisc., Paske has called the Myrtle Beach area home for the past 17 years. He graduated high school from the Academy for Arts, Science and Technology while also playing golf for his base school, Carolina Forest. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies education from Anderson University.

Following graduation, Paske got married and moved with his new wife to Madrid, Spain, to teach English at Ceip Gonzalo Fernandez De Cordoba. Their seven-month contract in Spain ended at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic which meant they spent their final two weeks in their apartment. While in Spain he earned a certification for teaching English as a foreign language from the Council of International Educational Exchange.

“My philosophy on education is all children are unique and deserve to be in an environment where they can grow academically, socially and emotionally,” Paske said. “It is my goal to create that type of atmosphere in my classroom so students can reach their full potential. I aim to build personal relationships with my students, so they feel safe sharing ideas and expressing themselves while meeting my high expectations.”

After returning home to South Carolina, Paske worked as a long-term sub with Horry County Schools and eventually obtained a temporary social studies position at Aynor High School where he also assisted with the boys’ varsity basketball team.

When not in the classroom or coaching, he enjoys looking for shark teeth on the beach, playing golf, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with family.

“I am excited and grateful to join the ACA family and look forward to helping students succeed in the classroom as well as in their respective athletics to get them where they want to be after high school,” Paske said.

Paske and his wife, the former Catherine Meeks who teaches fine arts in the Horry County School System at Ten Oaks Middle School, reside in Myrtle Beach.
