Dana Woodard ATC is in her first season working with Atlantic Collegiate Academy athletics.
A former EMT, Woodard serves ACA athletes as a representative of McLeod Health. She formerly worked for Tidelands Health as an athletic trainer at Waccamaw High for the last eight years.
Woodard, a native of Leesburg, VA, graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2012. She received her Board Certification as an Athletic Trainer in 2017. She is certified by the American Red Cross in CPR, First Aid and as a Lifeguard.
In addition to her efforts as an ATC, Woodard has been active with Joshua's Hands, a non-profit dedicated to the memory of gymnast Joshua Guthrie, who dedicated his life to service. She has served as the Director of Social Media for the organization since 2015.
Motivated by her mother, a highly decorated firefighter and paramedic in Fairfax County, VA, Woodard was driven to follow in her mother's footsteps as a child, but decided on a career as an athletic trainer after high school.
She attended Notre Dame Academy in Middleburg, VA, where she played varsity lacrosse and was a part of the dance team, but she also served as a student trainer.
