A Pennsylvania native, Brock Miller has been coaching football since his playing days ended with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.
Miller played collegiate football at North Carolina State where he was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter. He was a member of the All-ACC team as a senior in 1988 while also earning honorable mention All-America honors.
After his stint in the CFL, Miller returned to Raleigh where he served as a graduate assistant during the 1989 season, working with the tackles while recruiting in western Pennsylvania. He accepted a position as offensive line coach at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., for the 1990 season before moving to Myrtle Beach in 1991.
He served as Youth Sports Coordinator for the City of Myrtle Beach Recreation Department for two years before becoming a teacher and coach at Laurence Manning Academy. His areas of teaching included geometry, business math, U.S. history and psychology while he also served as offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. He also served as the head coach of the JV basketball team. He helped the football team reach the SCISA state AAA finals in 1994, the first of many playoff appearances for his teams.
Miller moved on the Hudgens Academy in 1995 to serve as Director of Athletics, head football and boys basketball coach. He oversaw 19 teams during his five years there, making three trips to the SCISA playoffs. During that time he also served with the SCISAÂ as both Region President and Coaches Association President.
In 2000 Miller moved to Colleton Prep in Walterboro where he served as AD, head football coach as well as head coach for both the boys and girls basketball programs (varsity and JV) while continuing as a math and physical education teacher. During his decade there he won a pair of football state titles among many playoff trips, took both basketball programs to the playoffs, finishing as boys runner up in 2003 and as girls runner up in consecutive seasons (2006-07).Â
He followed his tenure at Colleton Prep with four years as head football coach at St. Andrews School in Savannah, Ga., before taking over as President of Synergy Sports, a wholesale and retail sporting goods and screen printing company in Savannah.Â
The coaching bug hit again in 2014 when he took on the additional duties as head coach at Orangeburg Prep. Since 2016 he has owned his own wholesale and retail sporting goods company, Coach's Team Sports, in Little River.
His career has included numerous regional Coach of the Year honors as well as one State Coach of the Year award. He has coached in All-Star games within the state as well as the annual South Carolina-Georgia game. He has won the President's Cup, which goes to the top overall athletic program in the SCISA, five times.
